Short, because you should actually read it. Updated October 2026. Playing, making a story, ordering a tee or running a team means you agree to this.
The game
The Box is free to play. We can change locks, seasons, prices and features at any time, and we can end a season or the game. Progress lives on your device and with your account; we try to keep it but do not promise to.
What you make
Stories, characters, drawings, clues, team names: you own them. You give us a licence to show them in the game, in the gallery and in our own promotion of the game, for as long as they are published. Do not upload a drawing of someone without their consent, and never of a child without a parent\u2019s consent. We review gallery stories and can hide or remove anything, with or without a reason. We can suspend accounts that abuse other players, the moderation queue or the systems.
Beez and the character
Beez, the grumpy character, the artwork, the sounds and the shirt designs belong to the artist and to us. Make stories with the characters we provide; do not sell merchandise with them without written permission.
Accounts and age
Playing needs no account. Accounts, stories, orders and teams are for people 13 and over. Keep your password to yourself; what happens under your account is yours.
Tees and orders
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency stated. Pre-orders are made to order; a payment code expires if it is not paid in time. Shipping times are estimates. Faulty or wrong items: tell us within 14 days of delivery and we replace or refund. Change of mind on a made-to-order item is at our discretion. Some items are keys to parts of the game; a key is for the buyer and we can void keys that are shared or resold.
Team events
A team event fee buys the stated player limit, the screen and the recap for that team. Fees are refundable in full if the event has not started (no player has joined). Teams run free at the trial size.
Payments
Payments are handled by Paystack or Stripe. We never see your card or mobile money details. Payment problems: write to us with your order or team code.
Fair play
No automation, no scraping, no attacking the servers, no cheating other players out of the shared goals, no selling codes or passcodes. We can remove progress gained that way.
Liability
The game is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, missed drops, or anything beyond the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.
Takedowns and contact
If something in the game uses your work or your likeness without permission, email the address below with the story link and we will take it down while we look.
